Tim Davies AIfL- Head of Training

Tim joined Drivers Direct with a wealth of experience gained from the Transport and Recruitment industries.  He began his career as an HGV driver before progressing to the position of Transport Manager, at which time he gained his CPC qualifications. Following roles within General Haulage and Parcel Delivery logistics companies Tim applied for a position with a local recruitment company where he developed his skills and knowledge over a five year period before joining Drivers Direct.

During his time with Drivers Direct, Tim has managed a large on site account before progressing onto a training role. After taking several Training/Assessor qualifications Tim successfully launched the Training Department and is responsible for a team of Trainer/ Assessors offering Driver CPCs and various funded NVQ’s to drivers and companies. Tim is an Associate Member of the Institute for Learning.

Steve Clarke BSc(Hons), CMILT, AIfL - National Contracts Manager

Steve has spent his entire career in the transport and logistics industry and after leaving school went into postal logistics and latterly took and passed his C+E qualification.  In recent years he has driven different vehicles for a number of companies and undertaken various work including refrigerated, containerised and bulk carriers as well as general haulage on day and tramping work.  Steve has also worked in management in the postal logistics and retail sectors including JIT.

Steve has a honours degree in Management, Transport and Logistics, CPC National and International, A1 assessors qualification, is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK) and an associate member of the Institute for Learning.    Steve heads up our Driver CPC training sector and is on hand to discuss your individual driver training requirements. 

Kevin Henstock - Centre Internal Verifier

Kevin has many years experience as a Class 1 LGV driver and works for Drivers Direct as the Lead Internal Verifier for the Centre. Kevin's main role is to ensure the quality of assessments carried out nationwide.

Glyn Owen - Driver Trainer & NVQ Assessor

Glyn has held his NVQ assessor qualifications for 6 years and has extensive experience of assessing in the business administration and driving goods vehicles.  Glyn has worked directly with drivers for the last 4 years and moved now assesses the NVQ Driving Goods Vehicles qualification.

Kirsty Watson - National Trainer Coordinator

Kirsty joined Drivers Direct in April 2009 with a background in transport administration, she coordinates our team of trainers throughout the UK.

Brian McWilliam - CPC Trainer

Brian has 25 years experience in the transport industry with 12 years  involved with the training sector within blue chip companies. Brian began as an assessor and soon became a driver trainer. In 2002 Brian moved into training & Health and safety management.  Brian has a wealth of  experience in NVQ assessment procedures and management & CPC course compilation and delivery and is also a member of IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety & Health).

Tim Curle - Driver Trainer & NVQ Assessor

Tim joined Drivers Direct in 2010 after working in logistics for 22 years with the Royal Air Force. Tim is based in our Feltham branch and has recently trained to be an NVQ assessor.

Jonathan Cutler - Southern Region Induction Advisor/Trainee Assessor

Jon works in the Southern region and carries out initial assessments with candidates enrolling onto NVQ courses. Jon is also a trainee A1 assessor and specialises in the Level 2 Carry and Deliver Goods qualification. Jon is an experienced van driver and also has experience in recruitment in the short-term logistics recruitment sector.

Mark Prince - Driver Trainer & NVQ Assessor

Mark has over twenty years experience working with class 1 vehicles in multiple roles from food deliveries through to refuse collection. Mark has been a member of The Institute of Advanced Motoring for the last 20 years, has completed  a S.A.F.E.D course and is currently training with Drivers Direct to be an A1 assessor. Mark is based at our Leyland Training Headquarters and covers Lancashire, Manchester and West Yorkshire.

Rob Davis - Driver Trainer & NVQ Assessor

Rob is based in our Eastleigh office and has a wealth of experience in delivering NVQ programmes. Rob is also a qualified Internal Verifier and currently delivers Carry and Deliver Goods at Level 2 and Driving Goods Vehicles at Level 3.

We also have a number of assessors and trainers based throughout the UK
